Objective and Core Mechanics

Classic Klondike Card Puzzle tasks you with moving all cards from a shuffled deck into four foundation piles. Each foundation must be built in ascending order within a single suit, starting with an ace and ending with a king. The tableau consists of face-down and face-up cards. You move face-up cards to build descending sequences that alternate in color—for example, placing a red six on a black seven. Empty tableau spaces can temporarily hold cards, giving you flexibility to rearrange columns.

How a Turn Unfolds

At the start, you examine the face-up cards on the tableau. Legal moves involve shifting cards between columns or onto foundations. When an ace appears, it can be moved to a foundation to begin a suit sequence. The game includes hints for when you are unsure of the next move and an undo button to reverse mistakes without penalty. There is no timer, so you can plan each step carefully. The goal remains constant: transfer every card to the foundations, completing each suit in order.

Built for Flexible Play

The interface is clean and simple, keeping the focus on the cards. Because it runs in a browser, no download is required, and it works on various devices. The lack of time pressure makes it suitable for short breaks or longer sessions. Each shuffled deck presents a different arrangement, so no two games are identical. The mix of strategy and luck means outcomes vary, but careful planning often improves your chances.

Approaches That Tend to Work

Revealing face-down cards early opens more options. Moving cards from longer tableau columns can create empty spaces, which are useful for temporary holds. Aces and twos deserve priority for foundation building. The undo button lets you test sequences without committing. Patience and observation matter more than speed, and regular practice sharpens your ability to spot optimal moves.
